Hydraulic Lift Cylinder Removal: Post-Demolition Site Closeout

Hydraulic Lift Cylinder Removal – Post-Demolition Site Closeout

CTIS was brought in by a general contractor to remove four in-ground hydraulic cylinders and their reservoirs from a former building site in central PA. Demolition was already complete, leaving a slab-on-grade with four pits housing the cylinders, each roughly 1 foot in diameter and 12 feet deep.

Our crew mobilized to the site, drained the hydraulic oil from the reservoirs into steel drums, and pulled the cylinders from the pits. Because older hydraulic equipment can contain PCBs, we sampled the waste oil and ran the analytical before profiling, so it went to the correct disposal outlet. CTIS handled transportation and disposal of the oil and equipment, leaving the slab clear for the next phase of redevelopment.
