Substation Remedial Excavation – DRO-Impacted Soil Removal & Site Restoration
In 2026, CTIS was contracted to perform a remedial excavation at a decommissioned substation in North Carolina for a private utility client. The project focused on removing DRO-impacted soil at differing depths across the site.
The CTIS team’s scope of work included excavation of DRO-impacted soil, live-loading transporters directly from the excavation, installation of a demarcation layer, and the import, installation, and compaction of backfill to restore the site.
CTIS approached the work with a simple standard: “Leave only your footprints.” This project highlights CTIS’s expertise in environmental remediation, excavation, and site restoration for utility infrastructure.
